Course Descriptions

Pre-pointe/Beginning Pointe: For students not on pointe, Doricha will notify then if they are to begin pointe this summer. For those students not on pointe, they should take this class in their ballet shoes.

Variations: Variations class is where the students learn solos from famous classical ballets. They will be variations that are from the same ballet being studied in Repertoire class.

Introduction to Choreography: Introduction to Choreography class will allow the students to explore different styles and formats used when creating original works. Students will be allowed to create their own works and some will be performed during the in-studio presentation on July 17.

Repertoire: Repertoire class is where all students learn corps sections from a classical ballet; corps work is the large group sections of ballets that surround soloist and principal dancers. This class concentrates not only on learning a large body of steps but also focuses on dancing as a group, learning about formations, and different stylizations of classical ballet. All students that take repertoire class will perform the piece(s) learned in the in-studio presentation on July 17.
