Daniel Perantoni,
professor of tuba and euphonium at the Indiana University Jacobs
School of Music and a renowned soloist, clinician, and chamber musician, has
distinguished himself in the brass world as a premier tuba
performer, teacher, and recording artist. A former member of the
faculties at the University of Illinois and Arizona State
University, he has been a featured artist at Carnegie Hall, the
Monterey Jazz Festival, the Spoleto Festival U.S.A., Australia's
Adelaide Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, the Montreux Brass Congress in Switzerland, and, most recently, several
venues in Japan. At present he is a member of the St. Louis Brass
Quintet, the Summit Brass (a founding member), Symphonia, and the
Matteson-Phillips Tubajazz Consort. He has been influential in the
design of numerous low brass instruments and mouthpieces known as "Perantucci."
He serves as the vice president of educational matters and a
consultant/clinician for Custom Music Company.
