JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC STRING ACADEMYAugust 2009
Dear Parents and Students:
Summer once more is coming to a close and it is time to think about the 2009-10 Academic Year. We know that the Bloomington School System is starting in early August, but we will continue to follow the IU schedule. Registration deadline is August 29, private lessons begin on Monday, August 31 and GROUPS will start on Saturday, September 5. For new students wishing to audition, our audition date is Saturday, August 22. Please contact Christina Hightower (crunnacl@indiana.edu) to arrange your time.
We are happy to welcome back our entire faculty with the addition of Gwen Chan and David Carteledge’s baby boy. The GROUP Schedule and CALENDAR (please post on the refrigerator) are attached. Know that as the year proceeds, we will add events as the possibilities evolve. Again, we look forward to many wonderful concerts, master classes, and many hours of practicing.
Contact your private teacher as soon as possible to confirm your private lesson time.
Remember, that we are fortunate to live in one of the most culturally rich towns in the world with over 1,200 concerts yearly. Kids, take your parents to concerts this year!!
