The Art of Orchestral Audition Preparation for Violists 2008

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age This curriculum for this intense workshop is based on the university level Orchestral Repertoire courses designed by Professor deVeritch for both the University of Southern California and Indiana University.
This one-week workshop will include:
- On-going mock audition opportunities throughout the week critiqued by Prof. de Veritch
- Master classes covering solo repertoire required for orchestral auditions
- Discussions covering such subjects as efficient and effective audition preparation techniques, performance anxiety, audition logistics such as travel, accommodations, budget, and resume creation, contract negotiations, and titled chairs vs section positions
- Viola ensemble sessions under the direction of Professor de Veritch
Auditions:
Applications for performing participants must be accompanied by a CD or DVD containing:
- At least five (5) minutes of the first movement of a major viola concerto
- Three (3) contrasting orchestral excerpts of the applicant's choice
