Young Pianists Program

Fall Semester

Dr. Karen Taylor, Director of the Indiana University Piano Academy and
Young Pianists Program, welcomes all prospective students and families.

Tuition is due at registration*

Fall 2008 Session dates:    September 1 - December 20, 2008

Vital dates:  

Deadline for receipt of need-based scholarship applications: 

    August 15, 2008 

(Note:  Students must have attended Young Pianists for one session to be eligible for need based aid. There are no full-tuition scholarships available.  Awards generally range between 10-30% of tuition fees.  In rare cases, a student may receive up to 50% of tuition.)

    Registration deadline for all other returning students:   August 22, 2008

All students:  Please download a Safety Form and bring it to your first lesson.

* Please Note: 

If you are applying for need-based financial aid, you should enclose:

1.     Registration form and non-refundable application fee of $15.00

2.     Financial Aid Application form and a separate check for $10.00 to    

        cover the non-refundable application fee.

3.     Copies of your most recent federal tax forms and W2s.

4.     The deadline for receipt in the Office of Business Affairs is August 15,

        2008

If you are applying for an artistic merit scholarship, you should enclose:

1.      Registration form.

2.      Tuition payment (a minimum of 50% of all tuition is due with the

          registration form).

3.       A separate letter must also be sent to Dr. Karen Taylor   

          (karmtayl@indiana.edu) requesting merit aid and stating the reasons

          why you feel you qualify.  For more detailed instructions, see the YP

4.      The deadline for receipt of merit scholarship applications is

           August 22, 2008.

REGISTRATIONS THAT LACK EITHER THE REGISTRATION FORM OR THE APPROPRIATE PAYMENT AMOUNT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

If an artistic merit or a need-based scholarship is not awarded to an applicant or if there is a tuition balance, then that balance is due immediately.
