General Information for All Applicants

June 3 - June 7, 2020

Join us for the Chamber Music Seminar at the Jacobs School of Music! Our focus will be chamber groups of piano and strings, strings only, or strings plus a limited number of winds who are seeking to be immersed in a meaningful chamber music experience. Both pre-formed chamber ensembles and individual players are encouraged to apply and we welcome multiple levels of musicians. Recent participants came from across the county and included free-lance musicians, as well as college and graduate students, and amateurs.

This intensive seminar will consist of coaching, rehearsals, ensembles, concerts, lectures, performances, and yoga and mindfulness sessions. Participants will receive expert coaching on a daily basis, with faculty members from the Jacobs School of Music, the Atlanta Opera, and New England Conservatory.

Participants will also have the chance to take part in ad-hoc reading sessions in small and large ensembles, meet contemporary composers, and take-in the campus and community offerings. Informal performances will create culminating experiences for the session.

  • This seminar is intended for participants over the age of 18.
  • Maximum of 32 participants
  • This program does not offer scholarships. Only full payment will secure your position.
  • On-campus housing is available. See "Visiting" in the left menu for accommodation information.
  • Tuition includes a temporary computer account and locker rental.
  • Late applications will be accepted on the basis of available space.
  • There is a $200.00 cancellation fee for refunded tuition (this includes the $70 non-refundable registration fee).
