Application Procedure:

  • Acceptd Application Deadline: April 15, 2020
  • Please submit the following items on Acceptd:

    1. Resumé

    2. A letter of recommendation from current instructor

    3. Photograph of dancer in first arabesque (on pointe for women)

    4. Video: details on Acceptd

Auditions and recommendation letters sent by email/fax/mail will not be considered.

Pre-Screening audition result will be sent out by April 17, 2020

 

Step 2. Finish the Registration and Payment 
  • Online registration form is only emailed to the accepted applicants
  • Registration/Payment Deadline: April 30, 2020 (pay tuition and housing fees to secure your spot in the Ballet Summer Intensive)

2020 Fees 

Non-refundable pre-registration fee: $70

Tuition for Session I OR II OR III (one week):  $745.00
Tuition for 2 sessions:  $1,390.00
Tuition for all 3 sessions:  $2,055.00
  
Room and board, session I or II or III (one week):  $432.00
Room and board, 2 consecutive sessions (includes the weekend):  $949.00
Room and board, all 3 sessions (includes both weekends):  $1415.00

Travel and Housing

All students arriving alone at the Indianapolis International Airport may travel to and from the airport to I.U. by GO Express Travel service or Classic Touch Limousine.

Students will be met at the Willkie Residence Center drop-off point by a Ballet Intensive Staff member and transported to Spruce Hall Residence Center. Reservations must be made and paid for in advance.

Classic Touch will take the student directly to Spruce Hall Residence Center, located at 1801 E. Jones Drive, Bloomington, IN.

Arrival:

Please plan to arrive for check-in at Spruce Hall Residence Center between 4-6 PM on Sunday of each Session. The students may not enter the dorm any earlier without a parent than 4 p.m.

For information about traveling to Bloomington and accommodations, please click on the "Visiting" link in the left menu.

Participants will stay in a double room (with roommate) in the Spruce Residence Center. It has air conditioning and coin-operated laundry facilities available for personal use. Three meals are served daily. Televisions are not allowed in individual rooms. Adult counselors are resident in the dorm.


Staying Off-Campus

Ballet Summer Intensive participants may choose to stay off campus; however, he/she must stay with a parent or guardian if under age 18. Click on "Visiting" in the left menu.

Participants staying off-campus cannot buy meal cards. If they wish to eat meals on campus, they may pay with cash or credit card.

Off-campus students under age 18 are the responsibility of the established legal guardian. A drop-off and collect time must be planned in advance with our staff. The agreed drop-off and collect time should be convenient to the daily schedule.

Transportation to the Indiana University campus is the responsibility of the designated legal guardian.

At no time can a student under age 18 be dropped on the Indiana University campus and left unattended. The student must be handed-off from the legal guardian to a Ballet counselor.

Refunds

Cancellations must be made in writing to the Director, cc' the Office of Special Programs, and are subject to the following deadlines and fees;

-Cancellations prior to 5 days before arrival incur a $200 cancellation penalty (this includes the $70 non-refundable registration fee plus processing fees). Any remaining fees paid (minus the $200 cancellation charge) will be refunded.

-Cancellations less than 5 days prior to arrival will not receive a refund except in the case of a documented emergency.

-No refunds will be offered for dismissal due to violation of Summer Ballet Intensive, Indiana University, state, or federal rules, early departure due to homesickness; voluntary withdrawal or temporary absence.

When circumstances necessitating withdrawal are beyond the student’s control (e.g., serious illness, or death in the student’s family), exceptions to the above policy may be made on the recommendation of the Directors.

The Jacobs School of Music reserves the right to cancel a workshop if enrollment is not met. Participants will be informed 2 weeks before the start of the workshop and receive a full refund.
