Tiffany J. Galus is assistant professor of music in bands and director of the Marching Hundred at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Previously, she served as assistant director of bands at The University of Texas at Austin, where she served as assistant director of the Longhorn Band, conducted the university concert and athletic bands, and taught courses in undergraduate conducting and wind band literature. She has also served as a public-school band director in northern Indiana. Under her direction, the program received consistent superior ratings at band festivals, including two state titles in 2014. In 2013, she was a quarterfinalist for the first Music Educator Grammy Award.

With a comprehensive background in the arts as an educator, conductor, performer, producer, arranger, editor, and media creator, Galus has led a multifaceted career, serving a variety of arts communities. At The University of Texas, she established the UTWE Live! livestream series, which reached over a half-million viewers between 2018 and 2020. She also is cofounder and owner of Keep Making Music, an ensemble media creation company based in Austin, Texas, that produced virtual performances for ensembles nationwide, including a virtual opera production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.

As a freelance transcriber, editor, and arranger, she has written for wind ensembles, marching/pep bands, show choir, and chamber ensembles. Some of her major works include a wind band transcription of John Adams’ Saxophone Concerto and Charles Ives’ Variations on America, critical editions of Fred Junkin’s setting of Respighi’s Fountains of Rome, HR Kent/Mayhew Lake’s setting of Overture to “La Forza del Destino,” and Michael Martin’s Lontano: Symphony for Wind Ensemble.

Galus has served on the staff for Ultimate Drill Book, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Rhythmic Force Indoor Percussion, Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps, and the National Youth Wind Ensemble. She holds memberships in the College Band Directors National Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Indiana Bandmasters Association, National Band Association, National Association for Music Education, and Kappa Psi, and is an honorary sister of Tau Beta Sigma.
