The 2026 Jacobs School of Music Graduating class, their family, and friends are invited to join us for this year’s Graduate Recognition Event.

Reception – Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
Recognition Event starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Graduates will be greeted by Abra Bush, David Henry Jacobs Bicentennial Dean.
The names of the Jacobs School of Music Class of 2026 will be read aloud during the Recognition Event.
Registration is required by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

Tickets & Guest Policy
The IU JSoM Graduate Recognition Event WILL BE TICKETED.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, and to comply with venue capacity limits and fire codes, this year’s event will require a ticket for entry for all graduates and their guests. Tickets will be distributed electronically.
- Each graduating student will receive 1 ticket for themselves and up to 2 guest tickets.
- Within 7 business days of registering for the Graduate Recognition Event, and after January 15, 2026, you will receive an email from "IU Opera & Ballet Theater" (musicpub@iu.edu). You must follow the instructions in this email to reserve your tickets by Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Any tickets not reserved by Wednesday, April 29, 2026, will be made available to students requesting extra tickets.
- Extra tickets - Please indicate in your event registration if you would like to be contacted about extra tickets. Any additional tickets will be handed out the week prior to graduation. While we cannot guarantee extra tickets, we were able to fulfill all requests for additional tickets in 2025.
- You must present your ticket at the door for admission to the Graduate Recognition Event.
- Students and their families and friends who are unable to attend the Graduate Recognition Event in-person, can stream the ceremony at LIVE@jacobs.
Please note the following important details:
- During the Recognition Event, Rows 1-9 of the Musical Arts Center auditorium will be reserved for graduates. You will sit with other graduating students, not your guests. Seating is not alphabetical.
- Family and friends are seated in the rest of the auditorium. There is no additional reserved seating.
- For those with accessibility needs, please contact Alexa Dow at aledow@iu.edu.
- Cap and gown are not required for this event.
- Doors will close at 8:00 p.m.
